If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use our services. These terms apply to all users, including parents, guardians, and monitored devices.

2. Service Description

ParentalEdge provides parental control software that allows parents to:

  • Set time window controls for apps (schedule when apps can be used)
  • Block inappropriate websites and content
  • Monitor device usage and screen time
  • Receive activity reports and safety alerts
  • Manage age-based safety profiles

3. Eligibility and Account Requirements

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account
  • You must be the parent or legal guardian of monitored children
  • One account per family unit
  • Accurate information required for account creation
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ParentalEdge only for its intended purpose:

  • Monitor devices belonging to your minor children
  • Set appropriate safety and usage rules
  • Respect privacy laws in your jurisdiction
  • Not attempt to bypass or disable the software
  • Not use the service to monitor adults without consent

5. Subscription and Billing

  • Free Trial: 30-day trial with full features, no credit card required
  • Billing: Charged monthly or annually based on selected plan
  • Currency: Pricing in local currency (USD, AUD, INR + applicable taxes)
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime, no cancellation fees
  • Refunds: Pro-rated refunds for unused time upon cancellation
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled

6. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service:

  • Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance
  • Features depend on device permissions and network connectivity
  • Some features may not work on modified or rooted devices
  • Performance may vary based on device specifications

7. Australian Consumer Law and Guarantees

Important: Your rights under Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded.

Under Australian Consumer Law, you have guaranteed rights that cannot be excluded by these terms:

  • Consumer Guarantees: Services must be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose
  • Right to Refund: You may be entitled to refunds for major failures
  • Right to Repair/Replace: We must remedy problems within reasonable time
  • Compensation: You may be entitled to compensation for losses

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, ParentalEdge is a tool to assist parents but cannot replace active parenting:

  • We are not liable for content children access despite our controls
  • Parents remain responsible for their children's online activities
  • Service limitations may allow some inappropriate content through
  • Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right or remedy which you may have under Australian Consumer Law or any other law which cannot be lawfully excluded or limited.

9. Data and Privacy

Data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy and Australian Privacy Principles:

  • Data Security: All personal information encrypted and securely stored
  • Purpose Limitation: Data used only for providing parental control services
  • No Commercial Use: Personal information never sold to advertisers or third parties
  • Compliance: Australian Privacy Act 1988, GDPR and COPPA compliant practices
  • Cross-Border Transfers: International data transfers comply with Australian Privacy Principles
  • Data Retention: Personal information deleted within 30 days of account cancellation

10. Termination and Account Closure

Account termination may occur under the following circumstances:

  • Voluntary Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription anytime through account settings
  • Termination by ParentalEdge: We may terminate accounts for terms violations, illegal use, or non-payment
  • Notice Period: We will provide reasonable notice before termination unless immediate termination is required
  • Data Handling: All personal information deleted within 30 days of account closure
  • Service Cessation: All monitoring and parental controls stop immediately upon termination
  • Refund Rights: Entitled to pro-rated refunds under Australian Consumer Law where applicable

Upon termination, you remain responsible for any outstanding fees incurred before the termination date.

12. Changes to Terms

  • Acceptance: Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance
  • Objection: If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service are governed by Australian law, specifically:

14. Miscellaneous Provisions

  • Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues in full effect
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • Assignment: We may assign these terms; you may not assign without our written consent
  • Entire Agreement: These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right
  • Headings: Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation
